Welcome to the Garfield Middle School Guidance-Counseling Department. The mission of the Garfield Middle School counseling program is to encourage students to be responsible and productive members of society by providing an environment that fosters the social, emotional and academic development of all students.  We are always here to help, guide and most importantly support you and your child's social/emotional and educational success at GMS. The counselors provide services that aid students in solving problems and making adjustments to various situations. The School Counselors stay with the same students for the three years that they are in the GMS.  We also have a full time SAC/Wellness Counselor in the Middle School as well that services all three grade levels. Click on the SAC/Wellness tab on the left to learn more about their role at GMS.

Please take moment to take a deep breath and relax, we know some may feel unsure and uneasy and that is okay. We are in school this year, but there still are many changes and we are here to guide and help you along the way.  We are available Monday-Friday 8am-3:05pm. Please check out our website often. There are helpful resources and supports under useful resources tab.
